INDICATION OF LEVOCETIRIZINE
Levocetirizine is useful in below conditions
MECHANISM OF ACTION
Levocetirizine medicine is antihistaminic which decreases the activity at histamine H1 receptors.
This way it prevent release of other allergy chemicals & increases blood supply to that area. So, patient will get relief from their complain.
DOSAGE OF LEVOCETIRIZINE
Adult
5mg once in day in evening
Children (6 to 11years)
2.5mg once in a day in evening
Children (below 6 year)
Use & dose must be determine by consulting doctor
Contraindication
There is no known contraindication. It should be avoid to those who have hypersensitivity to cetirizine hydroxyzine.
ONSET OF EFFECT
Levocetirizine effect starts within 1-2 hours & effect last for 16 to 24 hours. It means that once you take in evening, effect last for next day evening.
SIDE-EFFECT OF LEVOCETIRIZINE
Each & every molecule which have effect, it has also side-effect. We can not deny adverse effect or side-effect. But it is not happen to everybody, it only occurs to someone who have sensitivity to particular molecule.
